Umutara Polytechnic, established in 2004, was a public institution in Rwanda primarily known for its practical and applied programs, particularly in Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, and Business Studies. It played a significant role in regional development through skill-based education before its integration into the University of Rwanda in 2013. As such, it no longer operates as a standalone university, and prospective international students seeking programs in these areas would now apply to the relevant colleges within the comprehensive University of Rwanda system. The University of Rwanda offers a wide array of English-taught programs and dedicated international student support services across its various campuses, continuing the legacy of its constituent institutions.
