About
Universidad Nacional de Piura (UNP) is a prominent public institution in northern Peru, established in 1961, known for its strong focus on regional development and research. Academically, UNP is particularly recognized for its engineering programs, including Civil, Industrial, and Agricultural Engineering, as well as its faculties in Economics, Administration, and Sciences, which are vital to the Piura region's economy. For international students, the university primarily offers exchange opportunities through its International Relations Office, facilitating integration into a Spanish-speaking academic environment. While full English-taught degree programs are not a primary offering, students can expect support in navigating local culture and academics. A distinctive characteristic of UNP is its deep commitment to addressing the socio-economic and environmental challenges of the Piura region through its research and academic programs.
