About
The Hungarian University of Fine Arts, often referred to by its historical name, the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts Budapest, is Hungary's premier and oldest institution dedicated exclusively to fine arts education. It is best known for its comprehensive programs in painting, sculpture, graphic design, and art restoration, fostering both traditional techniques and contemporary artistic expression. While instruction is primarily in Hungarian, the university actively welcomes international students through its robust Erasmus+ exchange programs and offers some courses and supervision in English, supported by a dedicated International Office. A distinctive characteristic is its unique focus as the only university in Hungary solely dedicated to the full spectrum of fine arts, providing a deep immersion into artistic practice and theory within a vibrant cultural capital.
