Darul Ihsan University, formerly operating in Bangladesh, was established in 1989 as a private institution. However, it faced significant legal challenges regarding its accreditation and operational legitimacy throughout its existence. In 2016, the Supreme Court of Bangladesh declared the university illegal and ordered its closure, invalidating all certificates issued. Consequently, it is no longer operational and does not offer programs to prospective students, including international ones. Its distinctive characteristic became its controversial legal battle and eventual shutdown due to unauthorized operations.
