Crimea State Medical University, historically a leading institution for medical education in Simferopol, Crimea, was known for its comprehensive programs in various medical fields. Prior to 2014, it actively welcomed international students, offering English-taught programs and dedicated support services. However, following the annexation of Crimea, the university was integrated into the Russian higher education system and is now known as the Medical Academy named after S. I. Georgievsky, part of V.I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University. Prospective international students seeking a degree recognized by Ukraine should be aware that degrees issued by this institution post-2014 are not acknowledged by the Ukrainian government. Background

The S. I. Georgievsky Crimean State Medical University (Ukrainian: Кримський державний медичний університет ім. С. І. Георгієвського; Crimean Tatar: Qırım Devlet Üniversitesi S. Georgiyevski) was a medical university situated in Simferopol, Crimea. It was one of the most prominent medical schools in Ukraine. Following the 2014 annexation of Crimea by Russia, the medical school was merged with the Russian controlled Crimean Federal University in 2014. The university had 6 faculties and 54 departments. As of 2009, 4700 students were studying there, among them approximately 1700 were foreign students. The university was decorated with Order of the Red Banner of Labour (1981) and was certified by the International Education Society as AA-level high school, giving its priority under top 1000 medical university around the world.
