About

The University of Washington Tacoma is an urban-serving campus best known for providing the prestige of a top research university within a close-knit, community-focused setting. Academically, the school excels in technology and professional fields, driven by strong programs in computer science and software engineering through its School of Engineering and Technology, alongside highly regarded majors in business, nursing, and urban studies. The student culture is collaborative, career-oriented, and diverse, serving a high percentage of first-generation and non-traditional students who largely commute to campus. A key distinguishing feature is its award-winning physical design, which cleverly integrates modern academic facilities into beautifully restored 19th-century brick industrial warehouses in downtown Tacoma.
