The university offers strong academic programs through its College of Business, College of Education and Human Development, and College of Arts and Sciences, with particular distinction in cybersecurity, teacher preparation, and criminology. Texas A&M–San Antonio has 161 full and part-time faculty. Texas A&M–San Antonio is the first Texas A&M University System institution to be established in a major urban center.
