As the only Historically Black College and University (HBCU) in Oklahoma, Langston University is best known for its rich heritage and a deeply supportive, family-like campus culture. This close-knit student experience is energized by vibrant campus traditions, active Greek life, and the acclaimed "Marching Pride" marching band. Academically, the university is highly regarded for its premier School of Nursing and Health Professions and its innovative School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences. What truly sets Langston apart is its unique location in a historic town founded by African Americans and its world-renowned E (Kika) de la Garza American Institute for Goat Research, which offers undergraduates unparalleled opportunities for hands-on scientific study.

Wikipedia:Langston University (LU) is a public, land-grant, historically black university (HBCU) in Langston, Oklahoma. It is the only historically black college in the state and the westernmost four-year public HBCU in the United States. The main campus in Langston is a rural setting 10 miles (16 km) east of Guthrie. The university also serves an urban mission with centers in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. The university is a member school of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. In March 2025, Langston University was named a Carnegie Research College and University.
