Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) is a distinctive community college celebrated for niche, world-class programs including aviation, culinary arts, freshwater studies, and the Great Lakes Maritime Academy—the only freshwater maritime academy in the United States. In addition to offering robust university transfer pathways and select bachelor's degrees, the college features unique experiential learning facilities such as an ocean-going training ship and the acclaimed Dennos Museum Center.
