The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) is a public, historically Black land-grant institution in Princess Anne, best known for its supportive, close-knit campus culture and rich heritage. The university boasts highly regarded programs in agriculture, aviation science, and hospitality management, as well as competitive doctoral tracks in pharmacy and physical therapy. Beyond the classroom, students enjoy a vibrant campus life shaped by classic HBCU traditions, active student organizations, and NCAA Division I athletics. Notably, UMES is distinguished by its unique PGA Golf Management program—one of only a few nationwide—and its specialized coastal research programs leveraging the nearby Chesapeake Bay.
