Emporia State University is best known for its foundational legacy in educator preparation through its nationally recognized Teachers College, alongside strong programs in business, nursing, and mental health counseling. The university holds a unique distinction as home to the School of Library and Information Management—the oldest library school in the western United States—and host to the National Teachers Hall of Fame.
