About

The University of Wales is a unique institution primarily functioning as a degree-awarding body and a centre for postgraduate research, rather than a traditional teaching university with a main campus. Historically a federal university, it plays a significant role in validating degrees for partner institutions both within the UK and internationally, making its academic reach global. For international students, direct enrollment is typically for postgraduate research degrees, or they might study at a partner institution whose degrees are validated by the University of Wales, ensuring a globally recognized qualification. Its distinctive characteristic is its extensive network of validated programs, meaning the student experience is largely defined by the specific partner institution providing the teaching and support. Support for international students is primarily managed by the partner institutions where the teaching and campus life occur.
