About
The University of Paisley, established as a university in 1992 and now a core part of the University of the West of Scotland (UWS), built upon a rich heritage of technical education dating back to 1897. It was particularly known for its strong academic programs in engineering, science, and technology, alongside a growing reputation in business and health-related fields. For international students, the institution, through its evolution into UWS, has consistently offered a supportive environment with dedicated international student services, including pre-sessional English language support and an international office to assist with admissions, visas, and welfare. Students benefit from a diverse campus community and opportunities for global engagement. A distinctive characteristic was its strong vocational focus and industry links, preparing graduates for direct entry into various professions.
