Université Victor Segalen (Bordeaux II) was a public university in France, established in 1971, primarily renowned for its strong faculties in Health Sciences, Human Sciences, and Sports Science. It was a key institution for medical and paramedical training, as well as psychology and sociology studies in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. In 2014, it merged with other Bordeaux universities (Bordeaux 1, Bordeaux 4, and Bordeaux Sciences Agro) to form the comprehensive Université de Bordeaux, meaning it no longer exists as a standalone entity. Prospective international students now engage with the broader international programs and dedicated support offices of the unified Université de Bordeaux. Its distinctive characteristic was its specialized focus on health and human-centered disciplines, making it a regional hub for these fields before the merger.
