About
Université de Provence (Aix-Marseille I), prior to its merger into Aix-Marseille University, was renowned for its strong focus on humanities, social sciences, and arts. It was particularly distinguished in fields such as literature, history, philosophy, and linguistics, with a notable emphasis on Mediterranean studies. For international students, the university offered various exchange programs, including Erasmus, and robust French language courses for foreigners (FLE) to facilitate integration. Its legacy continues within Aix-Marseille University, which now provides extensive support and English-taught programs.
