About

Universität Erfurt is a historic reform university in Germany best known for its strong emphasis on the humanities, cultural sciences, educational research, and social sciences. The university offers a distinctive interdisciplinary study model centered around its unique "Erfurt Protestant Augustinian Monastery" heritage and a flexible multidisciplinary curriculum that encourages broad academic inquiry. For international students, the institution provides a welcoming and manageable campus environment complemented by the International Office, which assists with orientation, housing, and administrative integration. While most undergraduate programs are taught in German, the university offers several English-taught master's degrees, particularly in fields like public policy and international relations, alongside robust German language courses. What truly sets Erfurt apart is its intimate campus atmosphere combined with a compact medieval city setting, allowing international students to experience authentic German academic and cultural life without the anonymity of larger metropolitan universities.
