About
Universidad Nacional Hermilio Valdizan (UNHEVAL) is a public institution located in Huánuco, Peru, recognized for its significant contribution to the central Peruvian jungle region. Academically, UNHEVAL is best known for its strong programs in Health Sciences, particularly Medicine and Nursing, as well as robust faculties in Engineering (like Civil Engineering) and Education. For prospective international students, the primary language of instruction is Spanish, and while the university has an Office of International Relations to facilitate exchange programs and agreements, dedicated English-taught degree programs are not common. International students can expect support for integration into the local culture and academic guidance, but should be proficient in Spanish for their studies. A distinctive characteristic is its deep regional focus, serving as a vital hub for professional development and research tailored to the specific needs and challenges of the Huánuco department.
