About
The Universidad Autónoma Tomás Frías (UATF), situated in the historic UNESCO World Heritage city of Potosí, Bolivia, offers a diverse academic portfolio with a strong emphasis on engineering, particularly mining and civil engineering, as well as social sciences and law, reflecting the region's rich heritage. While primarily catering to a local student body, international students can find opportunities for cultural immersion and academic exchange, though most programs are taught in Spanish. The university does not typically offer dedicated English-taught programs or extensive international student support offices comparable to larger global institutions, but general student services can assist. Its unique characteristic lies in its deep connection to Potosí's mining history, providing a distinctive context for studies in related fields. Prospective international students should be prepared for a Spanish-speaking environment and a more independent experience.
