About
The University of Mpumalanga (UMP), established in 2013, is one of South Africa's newest public universities, strategically located to serve the Mpumalanga province. It is best known for its strong focus on agricultural sciences, nature conservation, and hospitality management, aligning with the region's economic and environmental priorities. While UMP is still developing its international student support infrastructure compared to older institutions, it offers a welcoming and inclusive environment for students from diverse backgrounds, with all programs taught in English. International students benefit from a curriculum emphasizing practical skills and community engagement, preparing them for real-world challenges. A distinctive characteristic is its commitment to sustainable development and food security, making it an ideal choice for those passionate about these fields.
