Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) stands as Oman's premier public institution, renowned for its strong emphasis on research and practical application, particularly in fields crucial to national development. Academically, it is best known for its robust faculties in Medicine & Health Sciences, Engineering, and Science, offering a comprehensive range of programs. For international students, SQU provides an immersive experience within the Omani academic landscape, with many programs, especially in science, engineering, and medicine, taught primarily in English. While there isn't a separate international school, the university's International Cooperation Office supports partnerships and exchanges, and international students are integrated into the main campus life, often through government scholarships. A distinctive characteristic is its status as the only public university in Oman named after the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said, symbolizing its national significance.
