About
The South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) was a private higher education institution in Sri Lanka, established in 2009, known for its programs in Medicine, Engineering, and Management. It aimed to attract both local and international students with its English-taught curricula. However, SAITM faced significant controversy, particularly regarding its medical degree, leading to its eventual dissolution. In 2018, its faculties were absorbed by other institutions, with the medical faculty transitioning to the Kotelawala Defence University and others to CINEC Campus. Consequently, SAITM no longer operates as an independent degree-awarding university, making it a unique case in Sri Lankan higher education history.
