About
Sol Plaatje University (SPU), established in 2013, is South Africa's newest university, located in the historic city of Kimberley. It is best known for its innovative programs in Data Science, Heritage Studies, and Education, designed to address regional and national development needs. International students at SPU can expect a supportive and community-focused environment, with English as the primary language of instruction across all faculties. The university likely offers assistance through an International Office for admissions, visa processes, and integration into campus life, though specific dedicated international schools or extensive summer programs might be less developed given its recent establishment. A distinctive characteristic is its strong commitment to contributing to the socio-economic development of the Northern Cape province through relevant and high-quality academic offerings.
