About
Pomor State University, formerly a prominent institution in Arkhangelsk, Russia, was best known for its strong programs in pedagogy, humanities, and natural sciences. It offered a classical university education with a focus on teacher training and research in the Russian North. While it historically welcomed international students, offering Russian language courses and cultural integration, Pomor State University ceased to exist as an independent entity in 2010 when it was merged into the newly formed Northern (Arctic) Federal University (NArFU). Therefore, prospective international students interested in studying in Arkhangelsk should now explore programs offered by NArFU, which inherited many of Pomor State University's academic traditions and facilities.
