pthv.deAbout
The Philosophisch-Theologische Hochschule Vallendar (PTHV) is a private, church-run university in Germany, renowned for its specialized focus on Catholic Theology, Philosophy, and a strong, relatively new faculty of Nursing Science. Established by the Pallottine Fathers, it offers a unique academic environment deeply rooted in Catholic tradition, fostering a close-knit community due to its smaller size. While the primary language of instruction is German, the university welcomes international students and provides support through its International Office (Akademisches Auslandsamt), facilitating exchange programs like Erasmus+. International students benefit from a personal learning atmosphere and dedicated assistance, though full English-taught degree programs are not its primary offering. Its distinctive characteristic lies in being one of the few institutions in Germany to offer comprehensive academic degrees in Nursing Science alongside its traditional theological and philosophical studies, all within a Catholic ethos.
