About
The Oslo National Academy of the Arts (Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo, KHiO) is Norway's largest college of higher education for visual and performing arts, formed from a merger that included the historical National College of Art and Design. It is best known for its comprehensive offerings across six distinct art fields, with particularly strong programs in Design, Fine Art, and Theatre. For international students, KHiO offers a vibrant artistic environment and participates in various exchange programs, including Erasmus+, alongside providing some English-taught courses, primarily at the Master's level. The university's International Office supports incoming students with guidance on academic and practical matters. A distinctive characteristic is its unique position as the only institution in Norway to offer higher education in all six major art disciplines—Design, Fine Art, Theatre, Dance, Opera, and Art and Craft—under one roof.
