About
Khomeinishahr Payame Noor University operates as a branch of Iran's extensive Payame Noor University (PNU) system, a public institution primarily known for its commitment to accessible higher education through distance learning. The university system offers a broad range of programs across humanities, social sciences, basic sciences, and some engineering fields, with the Khomeinishahr branch contributing to this diverse academic portfolio. For international students, the experience typically involves integrating into a Farsi-speaking academic environment, as core instruction is in Persian, though the central PNU system does have an international office that can provide guidance and support. Students benefit from a flexible, self-paced learning model, making it suitable for those who prefer distance education. Its distinctive characteristic is its role in democratizing higher education across Iran through its widespread network and distance learning methodology.
