Karelian State Pedagogical University, formerly known as Karelian State Pedagogical Academy (KSPA), was a significant public institution in Petrozavodsk, Russia, primarily dedicated to teacher training and humanities. Established in 1931, it was best known for preparing educators across various disciplines, including pedagogy, philology, and history, and was the primary pedagogical university in the Republic of Karelia for decades. In 2013, KSPA was merged into Petrozavodsk State University (PetrSU), and its faculties and programs became integrated into PetrSU's offerings. Consequently, it no longer operates as an independent entity, and prospective international students interested in its former specializations would now apply to Petrozavodsk State University, which handles all international student support and programs. Its legacy of educational excellence continues within PetrSU.
