About
Islamic Azad University, Boukan, is a branch of Iran's extensive private university system, dedicated to providing accessible higher education across a broad spectrum of disciplines. It is particularly known for its programs in engineering, humanities, and basic sciences, attracting a diverse student body primarily from the region. While the main language of instruction is Persian, the broader Islamic Azad University system actively recruits international students, and branches like Boukan typically offer support through an international affairs office for admissions, visa processes, and cultural integration. The university does not widely offer English-taught programs but focuses on integrating international students into its Persian-language curriculum. A distinctive characteristic is its significant contribution to expanding higher education access within the West Azerbaijan Province as part of one of the world's largest non-governmental university networks.
