Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Rennes (INSA Rennes) is one of France’s most prestigious public engineering grandes écoles, renowned for excellence in applied sciences, computer science, civil engineering, and electronic systems. The institute stands out for its integrated five-year "master-level" engineering curriculum that combines rigorous theoretical study with extensive hands-on laboratory work and mandatory industrial placements. International students benefit from a welcoming campus environment facilitated by the EURINSA and ASINSA international tracks, which integrate international and French students from the very first year through specialized academic and cultural support. The dedicated International Relations Office provides comprehensive assistance with visas, housing, and integration, while a wide range of student-run clubs and French language courses help newcomers adjust to life in Brittany. A distinctive characteristic of INSA Rennes is its holistic educational model, which not only emphasizes technical mastery but also actively develops cross-cultural communication, project management, and ethics to prepare graduates for leadership in global engineering careers.

It is located on the Beaulieu campus in the east of Rennes, it is a part of the INSA group, which trains nearly 12% of all French engineers each year. Founded in 1966 to train highly qualified engineers, support continuing education, and conduct research and testing, it is the biggest engineering school in the region of Brittany. The five-year curriculum aims at training engineers who possess humane qualities and are well versed in the primary areas of science and engineering. The school accommodates 1,400 students in engineering.
