About
The Iceland University of Education (Kennaraháskóli Íslands) no longer operates as an independent institution, having merged with the University of Iceland in 2008 to form its School of Education. Historically, it was the leading institution for teacher training in Iceland, renowned for its strong programs in pedagogy, educational studies, and sports science. While the university itself is not accepting new students, its legacy continues through the comprehensive offerings at the University of Iceland. Prospective international students interested in these fields should explore the University of Iceland, which provides various English-taught programs, dedicated international student support, and exchange opportunities. Its distinctive characteristic was its singular focus on preparing educators for all levels of the Icelandic school system.
