About
HTL WELS is a prominent Higher Technical Institute (Höhere Technische Lehranstalt) in Austria, offering comprehensive technical education at the secondary level. It is best known for its strong practical orientation and vocational training in fields such as Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, and Mechanical Engineering, preparing students for both higher education and direct entry into technical professions. While primarily serving Austrian students, international students interested in a technical secondary education would integrate into the German-taught curriculum. The institution does not offer specific university-level international programs or dedicated international offices, but provides a robust technical foundation. Its distinctive characteristic is its dual focus on academic rigor and hands-on vocational skills, making graduates highly sought after in industry.
