About
The Haute école pédagogique du Valais (HEPVS) is a key institution in Switzerland, renowned for its specialized teacher training programs across all educational levels, from early childhood to secondary and special education. Its strongest programs lie within pedagogy and educational sciences, preparing future educators for the specific needs of the Valais canton. For international students, the experience is primarily through exchange agreements, as the main language of instruction is French, with some German-taught programs available at its Visp campus. While HEPVS does not feature extensive English-taught degrees or a dedicated international student office, exchange students can access general university support. A distinctive characteristic is its crucial role in developing the teaching workforce for the bilingual Valais region, making it deeply connected to local educational policy and practice.
