Galway Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT), now part of Atlantic Technological University (ATU), was highly regarded for its practical, career-focused education, particularly in applied sciences, engineering, business, and hospitality. It offered a dynamic learning environment with strong industry links, preparing students for immediate employment through hands-on experience. For international students, GMIT provided a dedicated International Office offering comprehensive support, including visa guidance, orientation programs, and English language assistance, ensuring a smooth transition into Irish academic and social life. All programs were taught in English, and its location in the lively city of Galway, on Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way, offered a unique cultural experience alongside academic pursuits. Its distinctive characteristic was a strong emphasis on practical, industry-relevant skills and excellent graduate employability.
