Fachhochschule Lausitz

About

Fachhochschule Lausitz, prior to its merger into Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg) in 2013, was renowned for its strong focus on applied sciences and practical education. It excelled in fields such as engineering, business administration, social work, and health sciences, preparing students for direct entry into professional careers. For international students, the institution, and now its successor at the Senftenberg campus, offers a supportive environment with various exchange programs and an International Relations Office dedicated to assistance. While German was the primary language of instruction, some English-taught modules and programs have been developed, particularly post-merger. Its distinctive characteristic was its strong regional integration and commitment to practical, industry-relevant research and teaching.
