About
The École Normale Supérieure de Fontenay-Saint Cloud was a highly prestigious French grande école, existing from 1985 to 2000, formed by the merger of ENS Fontenay-aux-Roses and ENS Saint-Cloud. It was renowned for its rigorous academic programs across both humanities and sciences, preparing students for careers in research, higher education, and public service. While specific dedicated international offices or English-taught programs as seen today were less common during its operational period, ENS institutions historically attracted top international students through competitive selection processes and collaborations. Its unique legacy lies in its evolution, as it subsequently split to form the foundations of the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon and the École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay.
