About
Bircham International University (BIU) operates as a private, distance-learning institution, offering a wide range of degrees from Bachelor's to PhD across various disciplines. It is primarily known for its non-traditional approach to higher education, emphasizing prior learning assessment and self-paced study rather than conventional campus-based instruction. For international students, the experience is entirely virtual, as BIU does not maintain a physical campus or offer on-site student services, dedicated international offices, or traditional student life. Students engage with course materials and faculty remotely, making it suitable for individuals seeking flexible, self-directed study without relocation. A distinctive characteristic is its global reach through online education, though its accreditation status is not recognized by many official governmental education authorities worldwide, including the Spanish Ministry of Education.
Background
