Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

About

Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is the largest comprehensive higher education institution in Greece, renowned globally for its historical excellence in humanities, archeology, engineering, and health sciences. While the primary language of instruction for undergraduate degrees is Greek, the university increasingly offers a growing selection of master's programs and individual courses taught entirely in English, particularly within fields like European studies, computer science, and classical studies. International students are well-supported by the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) and a dedicated Department of European Educational Programmes, which help students navigate both academic integration and administrative processes. What sets this university apart is its vibrant campus embedded directly in the heart of Thessaloniki, offering students a unique blend of a bustling Mediterranean urban lifestyle and rich Byzantine heritage. Beyond academics, international students benefit from heavily subsidized campus housing, affordable dining options, and free Greek language courses designed to ease their transition into local student life.
