About
Anton de Kom University of Suriname (AdeKUS) is the sole comprehensive university in Suriname, playing a pivotal role in the nation's development since its founding. It is best known for its faculties in Medical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, and Technological Sciences, which address critical national needs. While primarily Dutch-taught, the university attracts students from the Caribbean region, fostering a regional academic community. International students will find themselves immersed in a unique cultural environment, though dedicated English-taught programs or extensive international student support offices might be less formalized than in larger global institutions. Its distinctive characteristic is its deep integration with Suriname's national development agenda, making it a hub for local expertise and research.
