About
Located in the premier biotech hub of La Jolla, California, the Sanford Burnham Prebys Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences is renowned for its cutting-edge translational research in cancer, neuroscience, immunity, and stem cell biology. Its highly selective Ph.D. program offers an exceptionally low student-to-faculty ratio, fostering an immersive, lab-centric experience where students work directly alongside world-class principal investigators. Set on the prestigious Torrey Pines Mesa, the institute's culture is deeply collaborative and integrated with neighboring scientific powerhouses like UC San Diego and the Salk Institute. What sets Sanford Burnham Prebys apart is its state-of-the-art Conrad Prebys Center for Chemical Genomics, which gives graduate trainees rare, hands-on access to industry-scale drug discovery infrastructure within an academic setting.
